Another Internship Opportunity

Art Director/Production Artist Interns
A downtown Dallas-based media group is seeking two summer interns to start IMMEDIATELY. You will work along side talented designers in a full-service, in-house art department, supporting their existing creative direction, as well as getting set free occasionally to show us what ya’ got!

Responsibilities:
  • Carrying existing, established designs into different media and collateral.
  • Concepting and building ads for trade media publications, as well as the occasional ad for supporting Web sites, and developing campaigns for existing internal brands.
  • Marketing media—which includes but is not excluded to—postcards, mailers, brochures, one-sheeters, and letters.
  • Supporting the Senior Art Directors, even if it means getting coffee, but we aren’t mean, I swear.
  • Occasionally working on other publications such as program publication for Bass Hall, Fort Worth Performing Arts, and the Fort Worth Symphony, small projects for many of our trade shows that support our existing brands.

Requirements:

  • Preferably a college student in a design program, must be at least a Junior.
  • Upon interview, you must be able to show examples of solid design work in a super sweet portfolio, you only get one shot to impress us, make it good.
  • Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Adobe Design Creative Suite including: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (InDesign is vital! We DO NOT want ads built in Photoshop, this will not help you learn, and it will not make us happy!)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must have strong organization and communication skills and be comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
  • You will be a member of a team with real responsibilities, working on real projects with very real deadlines, so good, solid time management is a must!

This internship is also an opportunity for a talented student to potentially transition into a full time position after graduation.

To Be Considered:
Send your resume, along with any PDFs or links to your portfolio/samples, to Jennifer Vincent (BFA, ‘08) at Jennifer.Vincent@dsnews.com. Qualified candidates will be contacted to set up an onsite interview. Please no phone calls; Art Directors hate answering phones.
