Commie, Can You Spare a Pint?

I realize this is way outside the normal discussion of Communication Design but this afternoon I learned of a woman (she is a friend of our Dean's administrative assistant) who is in serious need of blood right now. Earlier this week she had some serious complications from childbirth and had to have 23 units of blood in the first 24 hours. She has reached her maximun on her health care for benefits already and the cost for blood is outrageous.

She is currently on a respirator and is starting dialysis today.  The baby, Jaxon, is holding on, but he went for awhile without oxygen so they will not know the effects for awhile.

If you have the opportunity over the next few days to give blood, she really needs it.  They give her credit for each person that gives in her name.  It doesn’t matter what blood type you are, they give her credit regardless.

While it is a good idea to give blood if you are able anyway, for this woman to receive credit for your donation, the blood has to be given at Carter Blood Care.

For her to receive credit you will need to provide the blood center with the following information:
1. SPON 049937.
2. Her name: Chrytals Moore.
3. Her date of birth: 12/8/77.
4. Her hospital: Medical City Dallas.

My wife and I gave blood last night. It is easy to do and does not really hurt. This is really an opportunity in which you can really do some good for a someone who really needs help right now.  Thanks in advance.

One thing I know about the students of Communication Design here at UNT is that they are generous and caring. I know that many of you are not able to give blood for any number of reasons, but those of you who can, I am sure that Chrysal Moore and her family will appreciate your generosity.
