Associate Professor Christina Wasson of UNT’s Anthropology Department is teaching a section of Design Anthropology (ANTH 4701.008) this fall. She has room on her course roster for five (5) Communication Design majors. We’ve had several students take this course in the past and derive a great deal of useful, useable and applicable knowledge from it.
Design Anthropology is NOT something you can study at most other universities and academies around the U.S. and the world. Couple this with the fact that we have a strong contingent of Anthropology faculty whose expertise is partially rooted in the study of design, and then add the fact that your ability to engage in the process of designing will often need to be bolstered by your deep understanding of “what social and cultural factors make your audiences ‘tick,’ ” and you wind up with a great deal of incentive to enroll in this course.
