Check out this interesting video on the growing trend of digital product placement, where ads and products are retroactively placed into syndicated reruns of television shows. It is a development necessitated by television's need to generate ad revenue even as viewers attempt to avoid watching advertising. It raises some interesting ethical questions. Namely, is it ever ethical to advertise a movie that was produced by Happy Madison, regardless of your methods?
